This beautiful knit winter hat (toque) is a recreation of the hat that Macaulay Culkin’s character Kevin McCallister wears in the movie Home Alone. I do not own the rights to this movie or anything to do with it, so I’m not posting any images from the movie, but a quick search will show you how closely this hat resembles the original. **I will knit your hat to order **

It features a red fair-isle moose and trees design, on a beige background, with a large yarn pompom on the top. It is designed to fit slouchy. It has a partial lining in the same wool, sewn to approximately halfway up the hat, for extra warmth around the ears.

SIZING:
Please measure the intended wearer’s head to see if your hat will fit before purchasing, and read the sizing information carefully. You can get an idea of how the hat will fit various heads from the photos, but everyone’s head, and how tight they prefer to wear a hat like this, is individual. 

NEW FOR 2025: I have had to change yarns for this as my previous supplier is sadly ceasing operations. This will mean differences in colour and feel from previous versions of this product if you have purchased in the past. The newer yarn is thicker and heavier than the previous version, which also makes the hat a little more snug and less stretchy/drapy, but with the bonus of added warmth. While it has some give, it doesn’t have a lot of stretch, and doesn’t “snap back” to the head the way ribbing or elastic does. Please check the sizing information carefully to make sure the hat will fit as you like. If you have a larger head than 23-24″ (61cm), or if the hat is for a very young child, you may prefer a larger or smaller custom size. Knit by domestic knitting machine, with Harrisville 100% wool yarn, that is durable and so soft, and spun in the USA. Wool is naturally anti-microbial, and has great thermal properties, making it the perfect choice for outerwear. Please be aware this hat may have a slight “sheepy” smell if it gets wet. Your hat will be prewashed with wool wash (Eucalan) before being shipped, and it is not defective or damaged. This is simply a property of some wool, which is a natural animal product.

Recommended to hand wash in tepid water with wool wash and lay flat to dry.

Please note that estimated delivery dates are only an estimate. It can take up to 14 days for hats to be knit during my peak busy season (Sept. – Dec.), and shipping times vary by location and shipping method chosen. If you need your hat by a certain date, please let me know in your order notes, and please leave plenty of time for shipping, particularly around the December holidays. Unfortunately I no longer ship these hats internationally without tracking owing to a few issues with packages going missing.
