I recently learned my beloved yarn supplier for the wool for these moose hats is ceasing operations next year. In my quest to find a suitable replacement yarn, I revisited one I had tried years ago and decided against. But now I'm loving the slightly chunkier look, and brighter beige colour. The third photo is the old on the left (from some years and dye lots ago, with a backwards moose) and new on the right. What do you think? I might have to make a couple pattern tweaks to account for the heavier weight, but overall I'm pretty happy with the new look.

Since spooky season is right around the corner, I've been working on a couple embroidery ideas. How do we feel about this ITH haunted house (flameless!) tea light or votive cover? It needs a couple tweaks but I really like it! I think a taller candle would help the light reach that upper window. This was done in a 5x4" size on my Bernina Deco 340. I've also got a smaller 4x4, and I'm planning on a more elaborate version for a larger hoop. What do you think? Would you stitch one of these for your Halloween decor?

One of the fun projects I did recently: vinyl hock

One of the fun projects I did recently: vinyl hockey jersey tags for a local team. One of the parents put together these awesome personalized gift bags for everyone, including the coaches. These are a great way to jazz up and identify an equipment bag, garment bag, or to add to your keychain. These use a lobster clasp permanently attached with a rivet , but I've also done some with snaps and/or a jump ring. Customizable colours and design; I made these specifically to look like the Heartland Dragons' jerseys.

What do we think about these embroidered vinyl hockey jersey keychains/bag tags?? Perfect little keepsakes personalized with the player's name and number, in your team's colours! I'm considering adding them to my shop, if there's interest. I can do them with a plain jump ring or D-ring instead of the lobster clasp, and a snap (plastic or metal) instead of the rivet if removable is more your jam!
